How to read practical books effectively
So how to read practical books is really effective?
In How to Read a Book, the author reminds us to pay attention to two points when reading practical books:
First of all, think about two questions: what is the problem that the author wants to solve? What method does he suggest to solve it?
In How to Teach Grade One Easier, Mr. Peng Feng, combined with his years of teaching experience, instructed us how to design each text, how to attend classes, and how to pay attention to the classroom performance of junior children, in order to pursue the quality of Chinese education and return education to the root.
From his books, I see his efforts and expectations. I expect every Chinese teacher to read more books, record more classes, record more children, conduct in-depth research and explore the true meaning of Chinese education.
But one thing to remember is that no practical book can solve the practical problems concerned in the book.
Practical problems can only be solved by action.
Practical books solve practical problems.
Similarly, what Mr. Peng mentioned and did in his book. We should practice, explore and summarize in our own classroom according to our actual situation, class situation, learning situation and teacher's style, and turn what we read in books into things for our own use. Never take it for granted. It is better to believe in books than not to have them. It can only help you, but it cannot solve all your problems.
Second, what does this book have to do with me?
After reading the book, I thought: What does this book have to do with me?
After reading it, if you agree with the author, then you will take action to achieve your goal. If you don't take action, you may disagree with the author.
When Mr. Peng designed the literacy class "Little Frog" in How to Teach Easier in Senior One, he first took the students to learn the word "Qing" in depth, and then revealed the topic, because this class is a literacy class for word families, and the word "Qing" in "Qing, Qing, please and affection" is necessary, paving the way for students' later literacy.
Moreover, the word "Qing" has a strong ability to expand words, and the meaning of the word "Qing" is still the same, which not only helps students construct the sound, form and meaning of the word, but also paves the way for later study, killing two birds with one stone.
So, I made some adjustments and practiced in my own classroom. Introduce by the topic, and then practice according to teacher Peng's method. Sure enough, students learn it easily. After a class, they not only complete the task of being a class, but also are impressed with the word and use it easily.
Reading a practical book can guide our work and life and make us improve or reflect. This is effective reading. Otherwise it is an invalid reading.
